Import Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Import Compliance Specialist to join our team. This role serves as a subject-matter expert in Customs and Brokerage compliance, ensuring our organization maintains full adherence to U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Partner Government Agency requirements.

- Deliver consistent, accurate and compliant outcomes with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate proactive problem-solving and effective decision-making
- Communicate clearly across departments, offering expert regulatory insights
- Work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Identify and resolve compliance issues promptly, offering long-term process improvements
- Meet company standards for Financial and Qiality KPIs, SOPs, and compliance requirements
Your Duties
- Perform advanced HTS classifications and determine country of origin using expert regulatory knowledge
- Evaluate tariff exposure (including Section 301, 232, 122, and others) to determine compliant treatments and duty impacts
- Lead internal entry audits, identifying issues, determining corrective actions, and ensuring adherence to CBP/PGA standards
- Resolve escalated compliance questions and guide consumption entry processing
- Independently manage Post Summary Corrections (PCs) and Protest filings
- Validate and approve Customs Powers of Attorney (POAs)
- Resolve documentation discrepancies with sound independent analysis
- Review and authrozie daily duty payments to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Conduct root-cause analysis on compliance issues and recommend solutions
- Provide regulatory interpretation and guidance to internal teams
- Contribute to system enhacements and process improvement initatives
- Maintain meticulous recordkeeping for audits and regulatory reviews
- Perform high-level tasks and special projects requiring strong judgement and minimal oversight
