We are seeking a detail-oriented Customs Entry Writer to prepare and process import documentation while ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs requirements. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Your Profile

  • High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or international logistics.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, classification, and import entry procedures.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, analytical, and time management abilities.
  • Self-motivated team player who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Flexibility to work weekends as needed.
 

Your Duties

  • Prepare and submit customs entries for air, ocean, and ground shipments in compliance with CBP regulations.
  • Classify imported goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and ensure accurate duty and tax assessments.
  • Review commercial documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading, for accuracy and compliance.
  • Communicate with customers, carriers, and government agencies to resolve documentation and import compliance issues.
  • Monitor shipments to ensure timely customs clearance, release, and delivery.
  • Maintain accurate entry records and correspondence in accordance with CBP audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support efficient import operations.
  • Stay informed of changes in customs regulations, trade agreements, and compliance requirements.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
